As the temperatures drop, Meals on Wheels Wichita County is once again calling on our community to help bring warmth and comfort to our senior and disabled neighbors. Our 9th Annual Blanket & Sock Drive will run from November 3–14, 2025, and we’re aiming to collect 700 new blankets and pairs of socks to share with the clients we serve this holiday season.
Every weekday, hundreds of hot meals leave our doors to feed homebound seniors across Wichita County. But we know that nourishment goes beyond food — it’s also about warmth, dignity, and care. Many of our clients live on fixed incomes and struggle to keep their homes warm in the colder months. A new blanket or pair of socks can make a meaningful difference, offering both physical comfort and a reminder that they are not forgotten.
How to Donate to the blanket & sock drive
There are three easy ways to donate to this year’s drive:
-
Visit Wal-Mart on Lawrence Road on Thursday, November 14, where our team and volunteers will be collecting donations in person.
-
Drop off new blankets and socks anytime during the drive at Grubb’s Family of Dealerships.
-
Bring donations to the Meals on Wheels Wichita County office, located at 1000 Burnett Street, during business hours.
Get Involved and Spread the Warmth
Every donation — big or small — helps us reach our goal and ensures that our clients feel cared for during the holidays. You can also support our mission by sharing this drive with friends, family, or coworkers, or by giving a monetary donation directly through our website to help us purchase additional blankets and socks.
Join us in wrapping Wichita County seniors in warmth and love this winter. Together, we can make a difference — one blanket, one pair of socks, and one act of kindness at a time.
A heartfelt thank you to our Blanket & Sock Drive Comfort Champion Sponsors — Grubb’s Family of Dealerships, Veteran Auto Repair, and Nix Means Law — for their generous support of our 9th Annual Blanket & Sock Drive. Their commitment to caring for Wichita County seniors helps us bring warmth, comfort, and kindness to those who need it most. Because of their partnership, hundreds of homebound neighbors will feel the love of our community this holiday season.
