Case Management

Compassion Beyond the Meal: Our Case Management Team

At Meals on Wheels Wichita County, every meal delivered opens the door to something more; care, connection, and compassion. Our Case Management Team is at the heart of that mission, working tirelessly to ensure that the seniors and individuals with disabilities we serve are not just fed, but supported and cared for in every aspect of their lives.

Advocates for Independence and Dignity

For many of our clients, life can feel overwhelming. Limited income, health challenges, and isolation make daily living a struggle. That’s where our case managers step in. They are the advocates who listen, assess, and act. They connect clients to vital community resources like home repairs, medical equipment, transportation, and in-home support.

Through care assessments and personal follow-ups, they help ensure that no one in our program is forgotten. They are the bridge between our clients and the support systems that allow them to remain safe and independent in the comfort of their own homes.

Meeting Needs That Go Beyond the Plate

Often, our case management team encounters urgent needs; a senior sleeping without a blanket, a home without working air conditioning, or someone struggling to afford hygiene items. When these moments arise, your support makes the difference.

By donating through our Amazon Wish List or Walmart Wish List, you help our team respond quickly when a client needs something essential. Each donated blanket, cleaning supply, or box of hygiene products becomes a lifeline for someone who has nowhere else to turn.

"One of our clients who doesn't drive, lives alone, and didn't have the financial means at the time, called me upset because she was down to her last adult diaper and had no clue how to get more. She didn't have anyone else to call and had no way to get to the store. Just lets them know that they aren't alone, they DO have people that care, and they do not have to go without their basic needs," Shayna Pope, LBSW, Director Case Management

Your Compassion in Action

When you give, you’re not just providing an item. You’re restoring comfort, safety, and hope to a neighbor who needs it most. Every act of kindness strengthens our mission to deliver more than meals.

Together, we can ensure that every client feels seen, supported, and cared for — because compassion doesn’t stop at the door.
