March For Meals
Meals on Wheels Wichita County participates in the national March for Meals campaign, which is an annual month-long event, led by Meals on Wheels America. It is designed to generate public awareness about senior hunger and isolation and to celebrate the invaluable services provided by the Meals on Wheels programs – both home-delivered and congregate – in virtually every community across the country.
Volunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels help us raise awareness everyday for senior hunger. Every donation received this month will help us feed the seniors, homebound, and disabled adults in our community who need it the most!
The month of March is a perfect time to consider a monetary donation or consider becoming a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Check out the “Events” tab to see how to participate in our March for Meals events and Give Back opportunities.

Meals on Wheels of America has been a significant organization throughout the nation since 1954. The Older Americans Act in 1972, provided a platform to focus on senior nutritional needs. In 1974, members of various senior nutrition programs met in Washington D.C., creating the National Organization of Home Delivered and Congregate Meals Programs, solidifying the success and quality of Meals on Wheels.
